151. GSwing multilink DGP front suspension mechanism || Free download 3D model

This model is made by Gergő Farkas THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!!!!

This is a modified multilink/double wishbone front suspension from a Mercedes Benz C-Class (W202), the upper swingarm is replaced with 2 rods, so the correct technicus terminus is DGP "Dual Gelenk Prinzip" which can be seen on for e.g. Audi A4, A6, A8. The geometry is aimed to be correct as for the steering mechanism, camber, toe-in/out and track characteristics. DGP construction is better than the original double wishbone suspension, because it can steer itself better, and aimed characteristics can be set up closer to ideal. Basic setup might not be correct, but can be set up with steering track rods and an eccentric part in the lower swingarm. You can move the suspension in and out with suppressing constraint Angle4 in part Lowerfm<1> and the steering mechanism is constrainted in Angle7 in part iranyzokarfm<1>. You can check a basic, short animation on coub: http://coub.com/view/cqf45
Steering mechanism is a recirculating ball steering gear, which is also a dummy in the model. Main bearing is a 3rd generation bearing for suspensions where the hub is also the outer ring of the bearing. Damper is almost the same size as seen on the C-Class, but just 2 rods sliding in each other. Spring is edited in assembly context, so it rebuilds, compresses when moving the suspension, but not seats fully on the lower swingarm. Ball joints are similar to existing ones, but rather my first thoughts and imagination, maybe not the best contructions. Casted parts might not have all the correct drafts and rounds. Connections to chassis/body are sheetmetal "eyes" if you know what I mean.

Goal of this project was to analyze and upgrade a chosen suspension, do the main calculations for geometry and mechanical components, bearings and make a drawing on what I can show all parts. This project was made almost fully in one single week, with some basic mechanical calculations, so not everything is detailed in the model, but can be good for motion analysis. I tried to do my best, this was in my last semester in university and we had a really hard time to do all our subjects.

Modeling was done in Solidworks 2015 SP2, rendering in Keyshot 5 and some screenshots in SW. All SW files are in the zip, and model is saved in .step and .x_t parasolid formats for other cad system users. I made some renderings with the non slick tires, they help also in understanding an animation which will be made in the future, I thought that it could be used in either way. Hope you like it, share your thoughts, hit thumbs up if you like it, cheers!
